New Jersey native, Joella is a blend of pop, soul, and R&B. She has been referred to as "the Black Katy Perryā€¯ which essentially encompasses much of her musical style and fashion. With a style influenced by Grace Jones, and her soulful voice, Joella has been making waves, performing at venues such as SOBs in NYC, House of Blues in Hollywood, The Forum in Inglewood, as well as other venues. Her music has been heard on various VH1, Bravo! and Lifetime television shows, as well as featured in NPR's "Songs We Love" segment.
Joella's musical journey started at the age of 3, when her mother put a violin in her hands. By the age of 7, Joella spent multiple days out of the week at the Newark School of the Arts, where she studied voice, piano, violin, drama and various dance forms. She received multiple scholarships from NJPAC over the years, and is a graduate of the prestigious Carnegie Mellon University.
